An abdominal cramp is an involuntary muscular contraction that involves muscle in the abdomen or of any hollow organ within the abdomen. Cramps mostly result in abdominal pain and discomfort. Some common factors that may result in abdominal cramp include menstruation, indigestion and flatulence, irritable bowel syndrome, use of certain drugs, etc.
