Medispas Capsule

Prescription Required

Overview

Introduction

Medispas Capsule is a prescription medicine used to treat stomach pain. It is a combination of two medicines that works effectively to reduce abdominal pain and cramps by relaxing the muscles of the stomach and gut. It also blocks certain chemical messengers that cause pain.

Medispas Capsule should be taken in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. You can take it with or without food, but take it at a fixed time each day. You should follow the prescription strictly and never take the medicine for longer than recommended.

Sometimes, dry mouth may occur while you are on this medication. Frequent mouth rinsing, good oral hygiene, and proper fluid intake may help overcome this. Avoid alcohol consumption while you are on this medication, as this may affect your liver functioning. You should avoid driving if you feel sleepy or dizzy. You must consult your doctor if your stomach pain aggravates. If you have any kidney or liver disease, consult your doctor before you take this medicine.

How Medispas Capsule works

Medispas Capsule is a combination of two medicines: dicyclomine and paracetamol, which relieves abdominal pain and cramps. Dicyclomine is an anti-cholinergic which relaxes the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms), thereby relieving cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Paracetamol/Acetaminophen is an analgesic (pain reliever) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain.
