Luminosa M Cream is a combination of two medicines: Hydroquinone Topical, Mometasone Topical and Tretinoin Topical which treat melasma (dark spots on skin). Hydroquinone Topical is a skin lightening medicine. It reduces the amount of a skin pigment (melanin) that causes darkening of skin. Mometasone Topical is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Tretinoin Topical is a form of vitamin A that helps the skin to renew itself more quickly.
Luminosa M Cream may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Luminosa M Cream is probably safe to use during lactation.
Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby. The baby's skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of Luminosa M Cream via licking.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Your ability to drive or operate machinery might be impaired while you are taking Luminosa M Cream especially if you are feeling dizzy or have a severe headache.
Luminosa M Cream is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Luminosa M Cream may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
