Livtec 70 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of cholestatic liver diseases, alcoholic fatty liver disease and non-alcoholic fatty liver.

How to use Livtec Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Livtec 70 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Livtec Tablet works

Silymarin is an active principle obtained from milk thistle seed (Silybum marianum) . It might protect liver cells from toxic chemicals and drugs. It also seems to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Milk thistle plant extract might enhance the effects of estrogen.

Expert Advice

  • Livtec 70 mg Tablet helps the liver perform its normal function.
  • It should preferably be taken after meals. One of the doses should always be taken after your evening meal.
  • Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
  • Do not take antacids that contain aluminum while you are taking Livtec 70 mg Tablet as this decreases the amount of Livtec 70 mg Tablet absorbed by your body.
  • Do not take Livtec 70 mg Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
