Your child’s medicine at a glance

Give LC-Mark Syrup to your child exactly as prescribed by the doctor, in the recommended dose and duration. It can be given with or without food. Try to give it at the same time each day to help maintain a consistent effect. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, give the same dose again.

Your child may start to feel better after a few doses. Continue giving the medicine as prescribed to get the maximum benefit. This medicine may cause some mild and temporary side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, rash, or headache. These usually go away as your child’s body adjusts to the medicine. However, if these side effects persist or become bothersome, consult your child’s doctor.

Let the doctor know if your child is already taking any medicines. Also, inform your child’s complete medical history, including any prior episodes of allergies, heart problems, blood disorders, vascular disorders, birth defects, airway obstructions, lung anomalies, skin disorders, liver impairment, and kidney malfunctions. This information is critical for dose alterations and in planning your child’s overall treatment.

Benefits of LC-Mark Syrup for your child

Treatment of Allergic skin conditions
Allergic skin conditions can cause itching, redness, and rashes due to an overactive immune response. LC-Mark Syrup helps reduce the action of chemicals responsible for allergic reactions. This relieves itching, redness, and swelling, helping soothe the skin and improve comfort. It helps control symptoms and prevent flare-ups when used regularly.
Treatment of Allergic rhinitis
Allergic rhinitis is triggered by a reaction to allergens, such as pollen, resulting in symptoms including sneezing, a runny nose, congestion, and itchy eyes. LC-Mark Syrup works by blocking allergy-causing chemicals and reducing inflammation in the airways. This helps relieve nasal and eye symptoms and makes breathing easier. Give it to your child for as long as it is prescribed to help maintain symptom control and prevent recurrence.

How can I give LC-Mark Syrup to my child?

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. LC-Mark Syrup may be taken with or without food.

How LC-Mark Syrup works

LC-Mark Syrup is a combination of two medicines: levocetirizine and montelukast. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic medicine that blocks a chemical messenger called histamine, which causes symptoms such as a runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that blocks another chemical messenger called leukotriene. This helps reduce inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves allergy symptoms.

Quick tips

  • Give LC-Mark Syrup exactly as prescribed and at the same time each day, often in the evening if advised by the doctor.
  • Do not stop LC-Mark Syrup abruptly without consulting your child’s doctor, especially if it has been prescribed for asthma control.
  • Avoid giving LC-Mark Syrup with other cold, flu, or antihistamine medicines unless advised by the doctor.
  • LC-Mark Syrup may cause drowsiness, so monitor your child for sleepiness or reduced alertness.
  • Watch for unusual mood changes, sleep disturbances, or behavioral changes and inform the doctor if they occur.
  • If rash, swelling, or signs of an allergic reaction occur, stop LC-Mark Syrup and consult the doctor.
  • Seek urgent medical care if your child develops sudden wheezing or breathing difficulty.
  • Ensure your child avoids known allergens such as dust, smoke, or pollen whenever possible.
  • Encourage your child to wear a mask in dusty environments and maintain good hydration to help thin mucus.

Frequently asked questions

LC-Mark Syrup is a medicine used to help control allergy symptoms and allergy-related breathing problems in children when prescribed by a doctor. It may relieve symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itching, watery eyes, and allergic cough. In some children, it may also help prevent wheezing linked to allergies or asthma. LC-Mark Syrup contains two medicines: levocetirizine, which reduces allergy symptoms, and montelukast, which helps reduce inflammation in the airways. A doctor should confirm that your child’s symptoms are allergy-related before starting this medicine.
LC-Mark Syrup may help with cough if the cough is related to allergies or asthma because it works by reducing allergic reactions in the airways. However, it is usually not helpful for a cough caused by viral infections such as the common cold. Do not combine LC-Mark Syrup with other cough or allergy medicines unless the doctor advises it, as this may lead to accidental double-dosing. Consult your child’s doctor if the cough continues or is associated with fever, wheezing, or breathing difficulty.
Do not increase or decrease the dose of LC-Mark Syrup on your own. Always follow the dose prescribed by your child’s doctor. Increasing the dose may cause unwanted effects such as excessive sleepiness or mood changes, while reducing or stopping it suddenly may cause allergy symptoms to return. If you think your child is experiencing side effects, consult your doctor before making any changes.
LC-Mark Syrup should be stored at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. As with all medicines, it should be kept out of the sight and reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
You should not start LC-Mark Syrup without consulting your child’s doctor. In some children, this medicine may cause mild sleepiness, dizziness, or tiredness, which could affect concentration or physical performance. If your child has an important sports event or activity, discuss this with the doctor before starting the medicine.
LC-Mark Syrup should be used with caution in children who have mood or behavioral disorders. In rare cases, medicines containing montelukast have been associated with mood changes, anxiety, irritability, sleep disturbances, or unusual behavior. If your child already has a mood disorder, consult the doctor before giving LC-Mark Syrup. Monitor your child for any unusual emotional or behavioral changes while using the medicine.
No, LC-Mark Syrup should not be used to treat an asthma attack that is already in progress. It is usually prescribed to help prevent allergy-related breathing symptoms over time. If your child has an asthma attack, you should use the reliever medicine prescribed by the doctor and seek medical help if needed.
Give LC-Mark Syrup exactly as prescribed by your child’s doctor. Follow the recommended dose and timing carefully. Do not combine it with other allergy medicines unless advised. Because this medicine may cause sleepiness in some children, the doctor may recommend giving the medicine at a specific time of day. Make sure your child drinks enough fluids and follows the doctor’s instructions for safe use.
LC-Mark Syrup may cause mild side effects such as sleepiness, headache, stomach upset, or dry mouth in some children. A few children may also experience sleep-related changes, including nightmares, irritability, or mood changes. Rarely, allergic reactions such as rash, hives, or swelling may occur. Monitor your child for unusual behavior, sleep problems, or skin reactions after starting the medicine, and consult the doctor if any concerning symptoms occur.
Hives usually appear as raised, itchy welts on the skin that can move from one area to another and may come and go quickly. A drug rash, on the other hand, often appears as a more fixed rash that stays in one area and may last longer. Both can occur as allergic reactions to medicines. If you notice facial swelling, breathing difficulty, or a severe rash, seek medical help immediately.
Only a doctor can determine how long a child should take medicines that contain montelukast. The duration depends on the child’s symptoms, allergy triggers, and overall health. Do not continue the medicine indefinitely or stop it suddenly without medical advice. If you notice changes in behavior, mood, or sleep, consult your doctor promptly.
While giving LC-Mark Syrup, avoid combining it with other medicines that cause drowsiness unless advised by the doctor. Do not use it as a routine treatment for every cough or cold. Watch for sleep disturbances, unusual behavior, rash, or swelling while your child is taking the medicine. Seek urgent medical attention if your child develops breathing difficulty, facial swelling, a severe rash, or significant mood changes. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by the doctor.
