Gramicidin also called Gramicidin D is a combinationation of three pairs of antibiotics viz., Gramicidin A, Gramicidin B and Gramicidin Cand is used to treat inflammation and bacterial infection in the eye and outer ear (otitis externa).

How it works

Gramicidin belongs to the class of medicines called peptide antibiotics. It acts on cell membrane (outer coating of bacteria) and causes disruption thus killing the bacteria responsible for causing infection.
