Irimist Eye Drop is commonly used when needed. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not use the product if the seal is broken before you open it. Always wash your hands and do not touch the tip of the container. This could infect your eye.


The most common side effects of using this medicine are blurred or altered vision and sometimes pain in the eye. These are usually temporary and resolve on their own; however, let your doctor know if they persist or get worse. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires clear vision until you are sure you can do it safely.


Let your doctor know if you have ever had glaucoma or any other eye condition. Remove your contact lenses before using the medicine if advised by your doctor or as directed on the product label, and wait before reinserting them if recommended.

How to use Irimist Ophthalmic Solution

This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.

Quick tips

  • Your doctor has prescribed Irimist Eye Drop to treat dry eye disease.
  • It stabilizes the natural tear film and maintains necessary lubrication so your eyes don’t get dry and irritated.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution of this medicine.
  • Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 minutes. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.
  • Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.

Irimist Eye Drop belongs to a class of medicines called eye lubricants or artificial tears. It is available as eye drops. It is used to soothe irritation, burning and discomfort of dry eye conditions. One may experience such conditions because of deficient tear production, infrequent blinking, smoke, wind, pollution, extended use of computer screen or television, medical treatment or dry atmospheric conditions. Irimist Eye Drop may also be used to aid insertion of lenses or to make the lenses more comfortable while wearing.
Irimist Eye Drop is effective if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop using Irimist Eye Drop too early, the symptoms may return or worsen.
If you are using it for dry eyes, instil 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed. If you are using it to lubricate soft and rigid gas-permeable lenses, apply 1 to 2 drops to each eye with the lenses on as needed or as directed by your doctor. Blink several times after pouring the drops. Consult your doctor if you are not sure.
Use of Irimist Eye Drop should be avoided in patients who are allergic to Irimist Eye Drop or any of its components. However, if you are not aware of any allergy or if you are using Irimist Eye Drop for the first time, consult your doctor.
You may experience visual disturbances and eye discharge while using this medicine. Some other side effects of this medicine include redness of the eye, eye irritation, burning and discomfort, eyelid swelling and itching of the eye. If any of these side effects bother you, please consult your doctor.
Store at or below 25°C and out of the reach of children. Do not touch the tip of the container to any surface or eye(s), Replace the cap after every use. Remember not to use the eye drops after the expiry date or after 30 days of opening it.
