How to use Hypersol Ointment

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the ointment. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

How Hypersol Ointment works

Hypersol Ointment doesn't contain any medication, just salt and water. It relieves nasal congestion (stuffy nose or runny nose) by thinning mucus and moisturising the inside of the nose. Also known as "saline" nasal sprays.

Expert advice for Hypersol Ointment

  • Your doctor has prescribed Hypersol to decrease oedema (swelling) and haziness of the eye after cataract surgery.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
  • Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.
  • Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
