HT-Nate-L Tablet is used for the treatment of malaria in both children and adults. It contains two medicines both of which belong to a group of medicines called antimalarials. However, it is not used to prevent malaria or to treat severe/complicated malaria (when the brain, lungs, or kidneys are affected).
HT-Nate-L Tablet works by killing the malaria-causing parasites thereby preventing further spread of the infection. It should be taken with food as this will help your body better absorb the medicine. Take it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. Complete the full course of treatment to make sure the infection is treated completely.
Headache, loss of appetite, weakness, joint pain, or muscle pain are some of the common side effects associated with this medicine. You may also feel dizzy after taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if these persist or worsen.
Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor about all the medicines that you may be taking for any other health conditions. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medicine unless prescribed by the doctor, as it may be harmful effects on the developing baby.
Malaria is an infection that is transmitted by mosquito bites. HT-Nate-L Tablet effectively treats malaria by killing the malarial parasites. However, it should not be used to prevent malaria and should be taken only when prescribed by a doctor. This medicine makes you feel better within a few days of treatment. But, if you have fever, chills, muscle pain, or headache soon after you finish your treatment, this could be a sign that you still are infected with malaria. How HT-Nate-L Tablet works

What if you forget to take HT-Nate-L Tablet?
If you miss a dose of HT-Nate-L Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

You have been prescribed HT-Nate-L Tablet for the treatment of acute uncomplicated malaria that is resistant to other antimalarial medications such as chloroquine.
Tips to reduce the chance of being bitten by mosquitoes:
Wear light-coloured and covered clothing when you are outside after sunset.
Use insect repellent creams or sprays on parts of your body not covered by clothing.
Spray to kill any mosquitoes that may have entered rooms in spite of screening.
Finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
It should be taken with food or drinks rich in fat such as milk.
It may cause fatigue and dizziness. Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration.
If you vomit within 1 hour of taking the tablets, take another dose.
Inform your doctor if you have kidney, liver or heart disease.

Take HT-Nate-L Tablet with food, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. This medicine is usually taken twice a day with a meal for 3 days, or as directed. On your first day of treatment, take your first dose with food, followed by your second dose 8 hours later. Then for the next 2 days, take one dose in the morning and one dose in the evening. Patients should be encouraged to resume normal eating as soon as food can be tolerated, since this improves the absorption of the medicine.
