How to use Halobet MP Cream

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

How Halobet MP Cream works

Halobet MP Cream is a combination of two medicines: Halobetasol (topical) and Mupirocin Topical which treat skin infections. Halobetasol (topical) is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Mupirocin Topical is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by destroying the bacterial cell membrane.

Pregnancy

Halobet MP Cream is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Halobet MP Cream is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
The baby's skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of Halobet MP Cream via licking.
Driving
It is not known whether Halobet MP Cream alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney
Halobet MP Cream is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Halobet MP Cream may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
Halobet MP Cream is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Halobet MP Cream may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
