How Halobetasol + Mupirocin works

Halobetasol + Mupirocin is a combination of two medicines: Halobetasol and Mupirocin which treat skin infections. Halobetasol is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Mupirocin is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria that cause skin infections by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins necessary for survival of bacteria. Thus, it prevents the skin infection from spreading.
