How to use Gutrex D Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Gutrex D 2.5mg/5mg/10mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
How Gutrex D Tablet works
Gutrex D 2.5mg/5mg/10mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Clidinium, Chlordiazepoxide and Dicyclomine. Clidinium and Dicyclomine are antispasmodics which work by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). They stop sudden muscle contractions (spasms). In doing this, they relieve cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

CAUTION
Gutrex D 2.5mg/5mg/10mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Gutrex D 2.5mg/5mg/10mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Gutrex D 2.5mg/5mg/10mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
As Gutrex D 2.5mg/5mg/10mg Tablet may make you feel drowsy or affect your concentration and this may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Gutrex D 2.5mg/5mg/10mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Gutrex D 2.5mg/5mg/10mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION

Q. What is Gutrex D?

Q. Is it safe to use Gutrex D?
Gutrex D is safe in most of the patients when taken as per the doctor's advice. However, in some patients, it may cause common side effects like nausea, constipation, nervousness, dryness in the mouth, difficulty in urination, confusion, sleepiness, weakness, dizziness, blurred vision, impaired coordination and other uncommon or rare side effects. Inform your doctor if you experience any persistent problem while taking this medicine.
Q. Can the use of Gutrex D cause nausea and vomiting?
Yes, the use of Gutrex D can cause nausea and vomiting. In case, you experience nausea while taking this medicine, take it with milk, food or with antacids. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods. If you start to experience vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Talk to your doctor if you have persistent vomiting and signs of dehydration like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicines without speaking to a doctor.
Q. Can the use of Gutrex D cause dryness in mouth?
Yes, the use of Gutrex D can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water on your bedside at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.
Q. Can the use of Gutrex D cause dizziness?
Yes, the use of Gutrex D can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, stop what you are doing and sit or lie down for some time or until you feel better and do not drive or use any machines.
