How Glycodin Syrup works

Menthol primarily activates the cold-sensitive TRPM8 receptors in the skin. Menthol, after topical application, causes a feeling of coolness due to stimulation of 'cold' receptors by inhibiting Ca++ currents of neuronal membranes. It may also yield analgesic properties via kappa-opioid receptor agonism.

Expert advice for Dextromethorphan

  • Use Dextromethorphan as instructed by your doctor. Never take in greater amounts or more often than prescribed.
  • It causes sleepiness or drowsiness. If this happens to you, do not drive or use machinery.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Dextromethorphan, as it may cause excessive sleepiness or drowsiness.
  • Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems.
  • Store opioid pain relievers in a safe place and out of reach of others.

  • Inform your doctor if you have lung diseases (e.g. asthma, emphysema), depression, constipation, a history of drug dependency, severe lung or kidney disease, breathing difficulties, inflammatory bowel disease or history of a blocked bowel, low blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, fits, abdominal pain, gallstones or bile duct problems.
