Product introduction

Glendes-M Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of allergy symptoms such as a runny, stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and congestion or stuffiness. It helps relieve discomfort and makes breathing easier.

Glendes-M Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early, your symptoms may come back, and your condition may worsen.

The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, dryness in the mouth, skin rash, abdominal pain, and headache. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects.

Before you start taking Glendes-M Tablet, it is important to inform your doctor if you are suffering from liver or kidney disease. You should also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking, as some may affect, or be affected by, this medicine.

Glendes-M Tablet is used to treat an itchy, stuffy or runny nose, sneezing, or other symptoms caused by seasonal hay fever (allergic rhinitis). It works by reducing certain substances in the body called histamines that are responsible for the allergic symptoms. It also reduces swelling inside the nose and thus decreases symptoms such as stuffy nose. This helps in easy breathing and makes you feel better. Drink plenty of liquids, including chicken soup. It can make you feel better.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Glendes-M Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Glendes-M Tablet may be taken with or without food.

How Glendes-M Tablet works

Glendes-M Tablet is a combination of two medicines: desloratadine and montelukast, which treat sneezing and a runny nose caused by allergies. Desloratadine is an antiallergic that blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for a runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.

Pregnancy

Glendes-M Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy as there is positive evidence of fetal risk based on animal studies. However, it may still be prescribed by a doctor in situations where the benefits outweigh the risks.

Breast feeding

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Glendes-M Tablet may be unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. It should be used only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. Please consult your doctor.

Driving

UNSAFE

Glendes-M Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

CAUTION

Glendes-M Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.

Liver

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

There is limited data available on the use of Glendes-M Tablet in patients with liver disease.

What if you forget to take Glendes-M Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Glendes-M Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Quick tips

Be cautious while driving or doing anything that requires concentration, as Glendes-M Tablet can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake, and sugarless candy may help.
Stop taking Glendes-M Tablet at least three days before taking an allergy test, as it can affect the test results.
