How to use Gdcit Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Gdcit Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Gdcit Tablet works

Gdcit Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Guaifenesin, dextromethorphan and cetirizine which relieve dry cough. Guaifenesin is an expectorant which decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and help in its removal from the airways. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Gdcit Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy

Gdcit Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Gdcit Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Larger doses or prolonged use of Gdcit Tablet may cause sleepiness and other effects in the baby
Driving
Gdcit Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
Gdcit Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Gdcit Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
UNSAFE
Gdcit Tablet is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.
