Fumac Cream is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is best to use it at night for better results. Do not use the medicine for longer than your doctor has told you to, and let him or her know if your condition does not improve after 2 to 4 weeks of treatment. The affected area should be clean before using the medicine. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. Do not stop using it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better.


Some of the common side effects include vaginal burning sensation, itching, and irritation. If the side effects bother you or do not go away, let your doctor know. It makes condoms and diaphragms less effective. Ask your doctor about a suitable birth control method.


It is not likely that other medicines you take by mouth or injection will affect the way it works, but talk to your doctor before using it if you have used a similar medicine before and had an allergic reaction. This medicine should only be used if it is needed during pregnancy.

No, Fumac Cream is neither an antibiotic nor a steroid. It belongs to the imidazole class of antifungals. It is used to treat candidiasis (thrush) occurring in the vulva and vagina.
Yes, Fumac Cream can damage condoms and diaphragms (barrier methods of contraception), thereby affecting their efficacy. Therefore, instead of using these, you can use alternative methods of contraception, such as contraceptive pills.
Fumac Cream should be used strictly as per the doctor’s advice. The usual dose of Fumac Cream is one applicator full in the morning and one applicator full in the evening for 3 days. Your symptoms may disappear quickly, but it is important that you continue using the cream for 3 days. Consult your doctor in case you have any confusion regarding the medicine, if your condition worsens, or if there is no improvement.
Do not store Fumac Cream above 30°C. Store in the original container. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date shown on the outer packaging. Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Fumac Cream can cause certain side effects in some people. Using Fumac Cream may cause mild and transient rash or burning sensations that generally disappear rapidly. Additionally, using Fumac Cream for prolonged periods may make you allergic to it.
Fumac Cream does not affect sex life. However, do not have vaginal intercourse as long as you are using Fumac Cream. Also, condoms and diaphragms may get damaged and may fail to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
Fumac Cream can be used again if the candidal infection returns after 7 days. However, if the candidal infection recurs more than twice within six months, you should consult your doctor, whether it is a candidal infection or something else.
Do not start treatment with Fumac Cream during menstruation, as the cream will be washed off with blood flow. The treatment should be finished before the onset of menstruation. Do not use tampons, vaginal douches, spermicide or other vaginal products while using Fumac Cream.
