Product introduction

Fenoxene Capsule is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure associated with tumor of the adrenal glands called Pheochromocytoma. Lowering blood pressure helps to prevent future heart attack and stroke.

It is important to continue taking it regularly even if you feel well or if your blood pressure is controlled. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse.

Making some changes in your lifestyle will also help lower your blood pressure. These may include regular exercise, losing weight, smoking cessation, reducing alcohol intake, and reducing the amount of salt in your diet as advised by your doctor. This medicine is tolerated well by most patients but it has few side effects also. Some patients may experience dizziness and sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing. Other side effects include nausea, vomiting, nasal congestion, ejaculation disorder, and increased heart rate. Let your doctor know if these side effects bother you or do not go away.

Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any heart or kidney disease. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should also consult their doctor before taking it. Your doctor may check your kidney function, and blood pressure at regular intervals while you are taking this medicine.

Psychiatry
Hypertension is clinically high blood pressure. Persistent high arterial blood pressure above 120/80 mm HG is termed as pre-hypertension or hypertension, but the point to be emphasized is that this rise in blood pressure is persistent. Transient increase in BP occurs in stress and anxiety and needs to be treated accordingly.

Fenoxene Capsule works by blocking alpha receptors, thereby decreasing blood pressure.

Q. What are the advantages of using Fenoxene Capsule in pheochromocytoma?

Using Fenoxene Capsule in pheochromocytoma is beneficial due to its long duration of action leading to twice daily dosing. Along with that, it prevents episodic increase of catecholamine releases during pre- and post-operative period which helps in keeping the blood pressure under control during surgical procedures.

Yes, use of Fenoxene Capsule may affect sex life. It may cause inhibition of ejaculation and may make the patient impotent. However, these effects are generally mild and lasts for only a short time. Discuss with your doctor if you experience this.

Q. What are the symptoms of overdose of Fenoxene Capsule?

Taking more than the recommended dose of Fenoxene Capsule may cause significant decrease in blood pressure which may last for several hours, increased heartbeat, and one may even collapse. If you accidentally take an overdose of this medicine, contact your doctor and seek immediate medical help.
