Product introduction

It can be taken with or without food, preferably at a fixed time each day. Take this medicine in a dose and duration advised by the doctor. In case you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But, never take a double dose to make up for the missed one. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. However, inform doctor if you are suffering from any lung, liver or kidney disease before you start taking this medicine.

Nausea, stomach upset, insomnia, high blood pressure may occur as side effects of this medicine. It may also cause dizziness as a side effect, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus. Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may worsen your side effects.

Exco PD Syrup is a combination medicine that effectively relieves symptoms of the common cold, such as a blocked nose, runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, and congestion or stuffiness. It helps loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. It also shrinks the blood vessels and provides rapid relief that lasts for several hours. These actions make breathing easier.

Exco PD Syrup is safe and effective. It usually starts to work within a few minutes, and the effects can last up to several hours. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop using it unless you are advised otherwise.

How to use Exco PD Syrup

How Exco PD Syrup works

Exco PD Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Phenylpropanolamine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide and Paracetamol which relieve common cold symptoms. Phenylpropanolamine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer) which also blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and fever.

Quick tips

  • Exco PD Syrup is prescribed to get relief from symptoms of common cold as well as fever.
  • Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended.
  • Call your doctor if your symptoms have not improved within seven days of treatment.
  • Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications for cold.
  • Along with taking Exco PD Syrup do the following simple tips at home to get relief:
    1. Steam inhalation.
    2. Gargling with warm saltwater.
    3. Apply vapor rubs on chest, back if needed. Take enough rest.
    4. Take warm food and fluid only. Ensure adequate fluid intake.
    5. Advise hygiene measures to reduce spread: frequent hand-washing, avoiding sharing towels, pillowcases, etc.
