Dolomec Tablet is a pain-relieving medicine. It is used to reduce pain and inflammation in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and osteoarthritis. It may also be used to relieve fever, muscle pain, back pain, toothache, or pain in the ear and throat.

Dolomec Tablet should be taken with food. This will prevent you from getting an upset stomach. You should take it regularly as advised by your doctor. Your doctor may change the dose and time between doses according to your pain level and your needs. Do not take more or use it for longer duration than recommended by your doctor.

Some of the common side effects of this medicine include stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, and heartburn. If any of these side effects bother you or do not go away with time, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may help with ways to reduce or prevent these side effects by prescribing an alternative medicine or adjusting the dose.

Dolomec Tablet is also used to reduce a high temperature (fever). It works by blocking the release of certain chemicals that cause fever. Dolomec Tablet may be prescribed alone or in combination with another medicine. You should take it regularly as advised by your doctor.

How Dolomec Tablet works

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause fever, pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Methionine belongs to the class of compounds known as amino acids. It works by removing harmful breakdown products of paracetamol in the liver. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever.

Breast feeding

Driving

It is not known whether Dolomec Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney
CAUTION
Dolomec Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Dolomec Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Dolomec Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Dolomec Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Dolomec Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

What if you forget to take Dolomec Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Dolomec Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
