Overview

Introduction

Dolinsta Tablet is a combination medicine which helps in relieving pain. It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. It also blocks the transmission of pain signals to the brain to lower pain perception.

Dolinsta Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Depending on the severity of your underlying illness, your doctor will decide the precise dose. It may cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, indigestion, heartburn, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and dryness in mouth in some patients. Inform your doctor immediately if any rash or allergic reaction is observed while taking this medicine.

How to use Dolinsta Tablet

How Dolinsta Tablet works

Dolinsta Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Diclofenac and Tramadol, which relieves severe pain. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Tramadol is an opioid which works by blocking transmission of pain signals to the brain to lower pain perception.

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Dolinsta Tablet Taking diclofenac with alcohol can increase your risk of stomach bleeding.
Pregnancy
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Dolinsta Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Dolinsta Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Consult a doctor immediately if the baby shows signs of increased sleepiness (more than usual), difficulty breastfeeding, breathing problems, or limpness.
Driving
UNSAFE
Dolinsta Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Dolinsta Tablet may cause side effects such as drowsiness and blurred vision. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
CAUTION

Dolinsta is usually used for short term and can be discontinued when your pain is relieved. However, Dolinsta should be continued if you are advised by the doctor to do so.

Yes, the use of Dolinsta can cause constipation. Talk to your doctor about treating constipation if it persists for a long time.

Q. Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Dolinsta?

Dolinsta should be avoided in patients with known allergy to any of the components or excipients of this medicine. Dolinsta can cause problems when used with medicines that can cause sleepiness or MAO inhibitors (certain medicines that are used in the treatment of depression or Parkinson’s disease). Dolinsta should not be used in patients who are suffering from severe liver disease or epilepsy.

Q. Can the use of Dolinsta cause damage to kidneys?

Yes, long-term use of Dolinsta can cause damage to the kidneys. Normal kidneys produce a chemical called prostaglandins that protects them from damage. Use of painkillers lowers the levels of prostaglandins in the body leading to kidney damage on long-term use. Use of painkillers is not recommended to patients with underlying kidney disease.

Yes, the use of Dolinsta can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.

Keep this medicine in the packet or the container it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.
