Do not take ammonium chloride if you are allergic to ammonium chloride or any of the other ingredients of the cough syrup Consult your doctor before taking ammonium chloride in cough syrup:
  • If you have prolonged cough or asthma.
  • If you are taking any other cough medication.
  • If you are breast-feeding or pregnant.
Consult your doctor before taking ammonium chloride as injection:
  • If you have kidney or liver problems.
  • If you are having nausea as one of the symptoms.

• Inform your doctor if you have kidney, heart or lung disease, diabetes, enlarged prostate, increased pressure inside the eyes (glaucoma), asthma, or thyroid problems. • Patients allergic to noscapine or any of its ingredients should not take it. • Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take noscapine.

  • Do not use sodium citrate enema excessively as long term use of this medicine may lead to diarrhea and fluid loss.
  • Sodium citrate should be taken after meals to prevent stomach or intestinal side effects.

  • Do not give to patients with diabetes, heart or kidney disease, high blood pressure (hypertension), sugar intolerance (as this medicine contains sucrose), Addison's disease (insufficient amounts of steroid hormones), aluminium toxicity or patients on a low salt (sodium) diet.
  • Do not give to patients with inflammatory digestive tract or bowel diseases (e.g. Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis).
