Uses

Ammonium Chloride is used in the treatment of cough with mucus.

How it works

Ammonium chloride is an expectorant, which helps in bringing mucus out of the lungs and thereby relieves the cough. Ammonium chloride is used to maintain the acid-base balance in the body and thus is used to treat patients with hypochloremia and metabolic alkalosis.
