Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Correctal Plus Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Correctal Plus Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Caffeine, Chlorpheniramine, Paracetamol / Acetaminophen, and Phenylephrine which relieve common cold symptoms. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Paracetamol / Acetaminophen is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Caffeine increases the effectiveness of paracetamol and makes you more alert. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

Correctal plus contains caffeine, so, it is preferable to avoid medicines or food that contains caffeine like coffee, tea, cola drinks, chocolate as they may add to your total caffeine intake. Increased caffeine intake can cause difficulty in sleeping, you may experience tremors and/or may have chest discomfort. Also avoid drinking alcohol (beer, wine etc) while you are taking this medicine.

Yes, Correctal plus may make you feel drowsy or may cause you to fall asleep during your regular daily activities. No, taking a higher than the recommended dose may not be more effective, rather it may increase the chances of having serious side effects and toxicity. It is not recommended to use Correctal plus if you have high blood pressure (hypertension), any underlying serious heart condition or cardiovascular disorder, any history of stomach ulcers or overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), unless advised by the doctor. The use of Correctal plus should also be avoided if you are taking antidepressant drugs called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI’s) like phenelzine and isocarboxazid or tricyclic antidepressants like imipramine and amitriptyline.
