Coldover Oral Drops


Overview

Introduction

Coldover Oral Drops is used to treat common cold symptoms. It relieves allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, or runny nose. It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for pain and fever.

Coldover Oral Drops also narrows small blood vessels and relieves congestion or stuffiness. It may be taken with or without food. Take it in the dose and duration advised by the doctor. In case you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. Smoking may worsen the effect, therefore use of tobacco should be avoided.

It can cause fatigue, nausea, headache, dizziness, and dryness in mouth. As compared to other similar medications, it is less likely to make you feel sleepy. But, it may cause some amount of dizziness, so do not drive or do anything that needs attention.

How to use Coldover Oral Drops

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a marked dropper and take it as directed. Coldover Oral Drops may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.

How Coldover Oral Drops works

Coldover Oral Drops is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, Paracetamol/Acetaminophen and Phenylephrine, which relieves common cold symptoms. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which blocks histamine (a chemical messenger) to relieve allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Paracetamol/Acetaminophen is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

Pregnancy

My 1.5 year old daughter is suffering from severe cough and cold since last 7 days. Doctor prescribed Pulmoclear (3.5 ml daily thrice), maxtra drop (1 ml twice) and otrinoz nasal drop (4 times daily 2 drops in each nostril). She is on these medications since last 4 days. I don't see any significant improvement in coughing though her cold symptoms have been subdued. Wet Cough is the major problem.Please advice if I should continue with these medicines or change any.

Yes, Coldover is safe for most of the patients. However, in some patients it may cause unwanted side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, fatigue, dizziness, dryness in the mouth, sleepiness, allergic reaction. Yes, the use of Coldover can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for sometime and resume once you feel better. Do not drive or use any machines.

Yes, the use of Coldover can cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or with antacids can prevent nausea. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medication. If vomiting occurs, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists. You should also let your doctor know if you are unable to drink water and there are signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicine without consulting your doctor.
