Frequently asked questions

Coldec Syrup is used to relieve common cold and flu symptoms such as a blocked or runny nose, sneezing, cough, fever, headache, and body aches. These symptoms can make everyday activities uncomfortable and affect sleep and productivity. By targeting multiple symptoms together, Coldec Syrup helps provide relief and makes it easier to manage the discomfort associated with colds and flu.
Coldec Syrup contains chlorpheniramine maleate, dextromethorphan hydrobromide, paracetamol and phenylephrine, which work together to relieve different cold and flu symptoms. Paracetamol helps reduce fever, headache and body pain. Dextromethorphan hydrobromide acts on the cough center in the brain to help control dry cough. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that reduces swelling in the nasal passages, helping to relieve a blocked nose. Chlorpheniramine maleate is an antihistamine that helps relieve sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes. Together, these medicines provide comprehensive relief from multiple cold symptoms and help improve comfort during recovery.
Yes, Coldec Syrup can generally be taken with or without food. However, some individuals may find it more comfortable to take it after meals if they experience mild stomach upset. Follow your doctor's advice regarding when to take it, and avoid taking more than the recommended dose.
Use Coldec Syrup for the duration recommended by your doctor. It is usually taken for short-term relief of cold and flu symptoms to avoid paracetamol toxicity. If your symptoms continue, worsen, or return despite treatment, the underlying cause may need further evaluation and a different treatment approach.
Yes, Coldec Syrup may cause drowsiness or dizziness in some people. If you notice reduced alertness after taking it, avoid driving, riding a bike, operating machinery, or performing activities that require concentration. The effect can vary from person to person, so pay attention to how your body responds.
Be careful when combining Coldec Syrup with other cold, flu, or pain-relief medicines, especially those that also contain paracetamol. Using multiple products with similar ingredients may increase the risk of side effects or accidental overdose. Check the ingredient list and seek medical advice if you are unsure.
Tell your doctor if you are taking antidepressants before starting Coldec Syrup. Dextromethorphan may interact with certain antidepressants, especially monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and other medicines that increase serotonin levels, which can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome. Your doctor can determine whether this combination is suitable for you and advise on any necessary precautions.
If your cold or flu symptoms do not improve, become worse, or keep returning despite taking Coldec Syrup as prescribed, seek medical advice. Persistent symptoms may indicate another underlying condition or require a different treatment approach. Timely evaluation can help ensure appropriate care.
Yes, Coldec Syrup can help relieve fever, headache, and body aches that commonly occur with cold and flu infections. These symptoms can make daily activities uncomfortable, and reducing them may help you rest better and recover more comfortably while the illness runs its course.
Yes, Coldec Syrup is commonly used to relieve nasal congestion, a runny nose, and sneezing associated with colds and flu. These symptoms can interfere with breathing comfort and sleep. By helping ease nasal symptoms, the medicine may make it easier to go about your daily routine.
The time needed to notice improvement can vary between individuals and depends on the severity of symptoms. Many people begin to feel relief after taking the medicine as directed, but recovery from a cold or flu also depends on the body's natural healing process.
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Coldec Syrup, as it may increase drowsiness and dizziness. Also, be cautious when using other cold, flu, cough, or pain-relief medicines unless advised by your doctor. If you feel sleepy after taking it, avoid activities that require full attention.
