Coldaid + Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are nausea and vomiting. These are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any side effects. It can also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.

Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. Also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

It also blocks the activity of certain chemicals that causes pain and fever. An antacid present in Coldaid + Tablet prevents acidity that may occur due to this medicine. This medicine is safe and effective. It usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Taking this medicine enables you to live your life more freely without worrying so much about things that set off your symptoms.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How Coldaid Tablet works

Coldaid + Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Caffeine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Paracetamol and Phenylephrine. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemicals in the brain that cause pain and fever. Caffeine increases the effectiveness of Chlorpheniramine Maleate and makes you more alert. Paracetamol is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Phenylephrine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of a chemical messenger, histamine to relieve allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.

Quick tips

Coldaid + Tablet is prescribed to get relief from symptoms of common cold.
Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended.
Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications for cold.
Call your doctor if your symptoms have not improved within seven days of treatment or if you develop a fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat, severe dizziness or anxiety, severe headache, fever, or rash.
Inform your doctor if you are taking any antidepressants.
Along with taking Coldaid + Tablet do the following simple tips at home to get relief:
1. Steam inhalation
2. Gargling with warm saltwater.
3. Apply vapor rubs on chest, back if needed. Take enough rest.
4. Take warm food and fluid only. Ensure adequate fluid intake.
5. Advise hygiene measures to reduce spread: frequent hand-washing, avoiding sharing towels, pillowcase, etc.

Pregnancy

Coldaid + Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy as there is positive evidence of fetal risk based on animal studies. However, it may still be prescribed by a doctor in situations where the benefits outweigh the risks.

Breast feeding

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Coldaid + Tablet may be unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. It should be used only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. Please consult your doctor.

Driving

UNSAFE

Coldaid + Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

CAUTION

Coldaid + Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.
Use of Coldaid + Tablet may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.

Liver

UNSAFE

Coldaid + Tablet is unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided.
