Coflez-DX Syrup may be taken with or without food in a dose and duration as the doctor advises. Your dose will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early, your symptoms may come back, and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking, as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.

Common side effects of this medication include sedation (sleepiness), dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, gastrointestinal discomfort, and headache. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Let your doctor know if you are concerned about these side effects. This medicine can also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can make dizziness worse.

Coflez-DX Syrup combines six medicines: Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Cetirizine, Phenylephrine, Ambroxol, Guaifenesin, and Sodium citrate. Dextromethorphan hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that acts on the cough center in the brain. It helps to reduce the urge to cough by inhibiting the brain signals that trigger the cough reflex. Cetirizine blocks the effects of histamine, a chemical the body produces in response to allergens. It helps to reduce allergy symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that constricts blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing swelling and congestion. Ambroxol, guaifenesin, and sodium citrate work by thinning and loosening the mucus in the airways and clearing congestion.
