Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cobagen Plus Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Cobagen Plus Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Gabapentin and Methylcobalamin. Gabapentin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B which helps in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibers and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).
Cobagen Plus Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Cobagen Plus Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Cobagen Plus Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation.
Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby. Baby should be monitored for excessive sleepiness and weight gain.
Cobagen Plus Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Cobagen Plus Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cobagen Plus Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Peripheral neuropathy is a damage to one or more of your peripheral nerves. The nerves in the periphery of your body, such as the nerves in your toes and fingertip. These nerves carry messages to/from the brain and spinal cord from/to the rest of the body. The damage means that they don't function properly, and the messages that travel between your central and peripheral nervous system are disrupted.
Q. Can I stop taking Cobagen plus when my pain is relieved?
No, take Cobagen plus for the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the nerves are completely regenerated and healed.
Q. Can the use of Cobagen plus cause sleepiness?
Yes, the most common side effect of Cobagen plus is sleepiness. Do not drive, operate heavy machinery or engage in other activities that need your full attention. Do not drink alcohol while taking Cobagen plus. Severe sleepiness can happen or become worse, causing falls or accidents.
Q. Can I take a higher dose of this medicine than recommended?
No, taking higher than the recommended dose of Cobagen plus can lead to increased chances of side effects and toxicity. If you are experiencing increased severity of your symptoms that is not relieved by the recommended doses, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.

Yes, Cobagen plus does expire. Please check the expiry date written on the pack of this medicine. Do not use Cobagen plus after the expiry date.
