Clobetasol Topical(0.05%w/w)


Clobetasol topical is used to treat itching, redness, dryness, inflammation, and discomfort of various scalp and skin conditions, including immune-mediated skin disease with red scaly patches (psoriasis).

How it works

Clobetasol belongs to a class of medications called as corticosteroids. It works by reducing the action of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammation.

Gentamicin Topical(0.1%w/w)


Gentamicin topical is used to treat bacterial infections of the skin such as acne, psoriasis (red, itchy, scaly patches of skin) and dermatitis (red, swollen, and sore upper layer of skin due to skin irritation). It is also used to treat impetigo contagiosa (school sores, a contagious bacterial skin infection), superficial folliculitis (inflamed hair follicles on the skin), Ecthyma (a variation of impetigo, presenting at a deeper level of tissue), sycosis barbae (bacterial infection causing inflammation of the hair follicles in the bearded area), furunculosis (frequent boils on skin) and pyoderma gangrenosum (large pus containing ulcers).

How it works

Gentamicin belongs to group of medications called as aminoglycosides. It works by interrupting bacterial protein synthesis thereby inhibiting the bacterial growth.

Expert advice for CLOVATE G

  • Do not use in conditions such as acne, fungal skin infections, e.g. athlete's foot, ringworm, candida skin infections, severe flushing of skin on and around your nose (rosacea), spotty red rash around your mouth (perioral dermatitis), infected skin (unless the infection is being treated with an anti-infective medicine at the same time),itchy skin around the genitals or back passage, itchy skin which is not inflamed, nappy rash, widespread plaque psoriasis (raised, red patches covered with a silvery white buildup of dead skin cells or scale).
  • Caution is to be observed while applying the cream on large areas of the body for a long time like few weeks or months.
  • If your skin problem does not improve in 2 to 4 weeks, talk to your doctor.
  • It should not take if patient is allergic to clobetasol propionate or any of its ingredients.
  • It sholud not given to children below 1 year of age.
