Uses of Chloranton Tablet

Chloranton Tablet is used in the treatment of common cold symptoms.

How to use Chloranton Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Chloranton Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.

How Chloranton Tablet works

Chloranton Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Paracetamol, caffeine and chlorpheniramine which relieve common cold symptoms. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Caffeine increases the effectiveness of paracetamol. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.

Chloranton Tablet related warnings

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Chloranton Tablet. Taking caffeine with alcohol may impair the motor coordination
Chloranton Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Chloranton Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Larger doses or prolonged use of Chloranton Tablet may cause sleepiness and other effects in the baby
Chloranton Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Chloranton Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Chloranton Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Chloranton Tablet may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Chloranton Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Chloranton Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Chloranton Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.
