Give Cefo L 50mg Tablet to your child with or without meals. Though the risk of developing a stomach upset is less with this medicine, giving it with meals will further reduce the risk. The dose and duration depend upon the type and severity of the infection, so stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of the intake, give the same dose again but do not double dose if it is time for the next dose.

Cefo L 50mg Tablet may cause some minor and temporary side effects in your child. These may include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and allergy. Cefo L 50mg Tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It is commonly given to children to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including infections of the eyes, middle ear, nose, throat, lungs, skin, bone and joints, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. This medicine inhibits the growth of infection-causing bacteria by stopping it from multiplying.

Children usually start showing improvement within 3 to 5 days of the regular dosing. You must continue giving the medicine even after seeing this improvement because stopping the medicine abruptly may worsen your child’s condition or cause infection recurrence.

How Cefo L Tablet works

Cefo L 50mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Cefixime and Lactobacillus. Cefixime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Lactobacillus is a live micro-organism that restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.

Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Cefo L 50mg Tablet may cause a bitter taste. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help.
Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect.
Never give Cefo L 50mg Tablet until and unless prescribed by the doctor. You must also never share your child’s medicine with anyone else even if they show similar symptoms.
Stop Cefo L 50mg Tablet immediately if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty. Report to the doctor without any delay.
