How Cafsyn Syrup works

Cafsyn Syrup is a combination of four medicines: chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan, menthol, and phenylephrine, which relieve a dry cough. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic that relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of the cough centre in the brain. Menthol is an organic compound which produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels, providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
