Uses

Betamethasone Topical is used in the treatment of allergic disorders, skin disorders and oral lichen planus .

How it works

Betamethasone belongs to a class of medications called as corticosteroids. It works by decreasing the formation, release, and activity of different cells and chemicals that cause swelling, redness, and itching, thereby relieving the symptoms associated with skin conditions.

Gentamicin Topical(NA)

Uses

Gentamicin Topical is used in the treatment of bacterial infections.

Gentamicin Topical is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Expert advice for BETAGEN

Tell your doctor if you have diabetes or any type of skin infection. 
Do not use the cream on your face repetitively for more than 5 days.
Do not use betamethasone topical for more than 2 weeks and inform your doctor if symptoms do not disappear after 2 weeks of use.
Do not use a large amount of cream continuously on large areas of the body as it may affect your hormones.
Exercise caution when using in children as excessive usage of cream may affect their growth and development. 
Avoid direct contact of cream with your eyes. In case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water immediately and seek immediate medical attention.
Do not cover the treated skin area unless indicated by your doctor.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Betamethasone topical may cause skin pigmentation in few patients. It may lighten or darken the skin color. Do not use betamethasone without doctor's advice

No. Betamethasone valerate can be used in conditions like eczema (a type of itchy skin rash), atopic dermatitis (inflammation of skin) and psoriasis of the scalp, hands and feet

Q.Does betnesol work in retention edema?
No. Betnesol (i.e. betamethasone) cannot be used in retention edema. On the contrary, it causes the fluid and salt retention thereby adding to the edema problem
