Beclotas N Ointment is a combination of three medicines: Beclometasone Topical and Neomycin Topical which treat bacterial skin infections. Beclometasone Topical is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Neomycin Topical is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
Beclotas N Ointment may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Beclotas N Ointment is probably safe to use during lactation.
Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby. The baby's skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of Beclotas N Ointment via licking.
Beclotas N Ointment does not usually affect your ability to drive.
