Product introduction

Bactimax Cream may be used in the dose and duration suggested by the doctor. Applying it at the same time every day will help you remember to use it. The affected area should be clean and dry before application of the medicine. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. Do not stop using it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better.

The most common side effects of this medicine include application site reactions like burning, irritation, itching, and redness. These are usually mild but let your doctor know if they bother you or last more than a few days. Avoid direct contact with eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.

It is not likely that other medicines you take by mouth or injection will affect the way this medicine works, but talk to your doctor before using it if you have recently used another medicine for the infection. The medicine is not recommended for pregnant women. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctors before using this medicine.

How Bactimax Cream works

Bactimax Cream is a combination of three medicines: Miconazole, Mometasone and Nadifloxacin which treat skin infections. Miconazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi while Nadifloxacin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria that cause skin infections. Mometasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.

Frequently asked questions

Bactimax Cream is used for treating mixed skin infections caused by fungi and bacteria that lead to redness, swelling, itching, or burning of the skin. It is commonly prescribed for conditions like athlete’s foot, ringworm, and inflamed skin infections.
Do not apply Bactimax Cream to broken, inflamed, or sensitive skin, unless your doctor specifically tells you to. Using it on open wounds, cuts, or areas with acne or rosacea can make the problem worse.
The exact time Bactimax Cream takes to improve your skin condition is not known. However, most patients notice relief from itching and redness within a few days, but the underlying infection may take up to 2 to 6 weeks to clear. If you don’t see improvement after this period, let your doctor know.
You should avoid applying other skin medicines or cosmetics on top of Bactimax Cream, unless your doctor approves, as they may interact with this medicine or slow healing.
Let your doctor know if you have skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema, or medical issues like diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, liver, or adrenal gland problems before using Bactimax Cream.
If infections keep returning or symptoms don’t resolve, contact your healthcare professional. There may be another issue needing attention, or a different medicine might be required.
No, Bactimax Cream is not a skin-lightening or cosmetic medicine. It is meant to treat specific infections, and using it on normal skin for lightening is unsafe.
No, you should not apply Bactimax Cream without a proper diagnosis. Using a strong combination medicines wrongly can hide the real cause of a rash, or make skin thinning worse over time.
Usually, doctors prescribe Bactimax Cream for a short duration, often one to two weeks. Prolonged use without medical advice can lead to skin thinning, increased infection, or delayed healing.
If mild burning happens after using Bactimax Cream, you can wait for a few minutes to see if it settles. If it continues or worsens, stop using the medicine and contact your doctor immediately, as it may not suit your skin.
Yes, when Bactimax Cream is used correctly and for the full course prescribed, it can clear the infection effectively. However, stopping early or improper use may cause recurrence.
No, Bactimax Cream is not meant for acne or pimples. The steroid part (mometasone) in Bactimax Cream can worsen acne and cause new breakouts.
