Amoxycillin works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Bromhexine helps to loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. This makes it easier for air to move in and out. It also enhances the activity of Amoxycillin against bacteria.
It usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

How Avimox BR Capsule works

Avimox BR 250mg/8mg Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Amoxycillin and Bromhexine which treat respiratory tract infections associated with excessive mucus (phlegm). Bromhexine is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Addition of Bromhexine enhances the antibacterial effect of Amoxycillin.
