Uses of Alertus Syrup
Alertus Syrup is used in the treatment of common cold symptoms. It relieves symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, and itching of the nose or throat.

How to use Alertus Syrup
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Alertus Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Alertus Syrup works
Alertus Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Chlorpheniramine and Phenylephrine which relieve cold symptoms. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

Pregnancy

Alertus Syrup is probably safe to use during lactation.

Driving
Alertus Syrup may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
Alertus Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Alertus Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Alertus Syrup may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.

CAUTION
