Actizo 20 mg/120 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of malaria
Side Effects of Actizo are Headache, Loss of appetite, Dizziness, Weakness, Joint pain, Pain in muscles.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Actizo 20 mg/120 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Actizo 20 mg/120 mg Tablet is a combination of two antiparasitic medicines: Artemether and Lumefantrine which treat malaria. These medicines work by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.

Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Actizo 20 mg/120 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Actizo 20 mg/120 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Actizo 20 mg/120 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Q. What should I know about storage and disposal of Actizo?
It is advised to keep this medicine in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture.
Q. Can I take Actizo while I am pregnant?
No, the use of Actizo is contraindicated in Ist trimester of pregnancy. As there are increased chances of fetal loss.
Take Actizo with food, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. This medicine is usually taken twice a day with a meal for 3 days or as directed . On your first day of treatment, take your first dose with food, followed by your second dose 8 hours later. Then each day for the next 2 days, take one dose in the morning and one dose in the evening. Patients should be encouraged to resume normal eating as soon as food can be tolerated since this improves the absorption of Actizo.
Q. Are there any specific contraindications to the use of Actizo?
The use of Actizo is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to Actizo or any other inactive ingredients of the medicine. Caution is advised in patients with cases of severe malaria and in the first trimester of pregnancy.
