Actipar Syrup is an anti-helminitic medication. It is used in the treatment of worm infections. It works by killing the worms that cause infection. The killed worms are then passed in the stool.
Actipar Syrup should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It should be taken with food, preferably at a fixed time. Avoid skipping any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Simply take the next dose as planned.
Some people may experience nausea, headache, vomiting, and dizziness as the side effects of this medicine. Please consult your doctor if these side effects do not resolve or persist for a longer duration. You may be monitored with blood tests and liver function tests throughout your treatment.

How Actipar Syrup works
Piperazine belongs to class of drugs called anthelmintic. It works by paralyzing the worms and making them to pass in the stool. It is effective against the intestinal nematodes roundworm (Ascaris lumbricoides), pinworm and threadworm (Enterobius vermicularis). Piperazine produces a neuromuscular block leads to muscle paralysis of the worms which are consequently dislodged and expelled in the faeces.

Pregnancy

Breast feeding
CAUTION
Actipar Syrup should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Driving

It is not known whether Actipar Syrup alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney

Taking Actipar with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Piperazine may reduce the efficacy of Pyrantel Pamoate.
Do not consume Pyrantel Pamoate with Piperazine.
