Acon-T Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of pain due to muscle spasm. It improves the movement of muscles and provides relief from pain and discomfort associated with muscle spasms.
Acon-T Tablet should be taken with food. This will prevent you from getting an upset stomach. You should take it regularly as advised by your doctor. Do not take more or use it for longer duration than recommended by your doctor.

How Acon-T Tablet works
Acon-T Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Thiocolchicoside and Diclofenac, which relieves muscle pain. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and improve movement of muscles. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Acon-T Tablet?
The use of Acon-T Tablet is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to any of the components or excipients of this medicine. The use of this medicine should preferably be avoided in patients with a history of stomach ulcers or in patients with active, recurrent stomach ulcer/ bleeding. Its use should also be avoided in a patient with a history of heart failure, high blood pressure, and liver or kidney disease.

Yes, the use of Acon-T Tablet can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for some time and resume once you feel better.
Can the use of Acon-T Tablet cause damage to kidneys?
Yes, long-term use of Acon-T Tablet can cause damage to the kidneys. Normal kidneys produce a chemical called prostaglandins that protect them from damage. Use of painkillers lowers the levels of prostaglandins in the body leading to kidney damage on long-term use. Use of painkillers is not recommended to patients with underlying kidney disease.
Will a higher than the recommended dose of Acon-T Tablet be more effective?
No, taking a higher than the recommended dose may not be more effective, rather it may increase the chances of having some serious side effects and toxicity. If you experience increased severity of your symptoms, that are not relieved by the recommended doses, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
