Product introduction

Omalirel Injection is given as an injection under the supervision of a doctor. The first three dose of medicine is given by the doctor. Your doctor will explain to you the best way to inject the medicine so that you can inject your medicine at home. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you even if you feel better.

The most common side effects of this medicine include joint pain, pain (general), fatigue, dizziness, fracture, itching, dermatitis, upper abdominal pain, nasopharyngitis, headache, and ear pain.  If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them.  Remember, it does not prevent you from a sudden attack, hence always carry your emergency inhaler with you.

Before taking this medicine if you have liver or kidney disease, or if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. In general, alcohol is not recommended while on treatment with this medicine.

Uses of Omalirel Injection

Benefits of Omalirel Injection

Asthma
Omalirel Injection is used to treat the symptoms of asthma such as tightness in your chest, wheezing, breathlessness and coughing. This means you can carry out your daily activities more easily and more confidently. It may take a few weeks for this medicine to show full effects. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered. Taking this medicine enables you to live your life more freely without worrying so much about things that set off your symptoms.
Urticaria
Omalirel Injection can be very helpful for people with urticaria, particularly Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (long-lasting hives that don’t have a clear cause). It works by reducing itching, swelling, and flare-ups when usual medicines like antihistamines are not enough. Many patients notice better sleep, fewer symptoms, and an improved quality of life. Since it is given once every 3 to 4 weeks, it also offers convenience without the need for daily medication. Most people tolerate it well, with only mild side effects in some cases.

How to use Omalirel Injection

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

How Omalirel Injection works

Omalirel Injection is a monoclonal antibody that works by targeting and blocking immunoglobulin E (IgE), a key antibody involved in allergic reactions. In asthma, IgE triggers inflammation in the airways when exposed to allergens. Omalirel Injection binding to IgE and preventing it from attaching to immune cells, reduces allergic inflammation and helps prevent asthma attacks.
