  • Petogen is used for a wide range of menstrual disorders such as heavy, painful or absent periods, and endometriosis.
  • In high doses, it is used in the treatment of breast cancer and endometrial (lining of the uterus) cancer.
  • It may cause bleeding  or spotting in between menstrual periods. Let your doctor know if this occurs frequently.
  • Stop taking Petogen and inform your doctor immediately if you get severe headaches, stabbing pains or swelling in one leg, pain on breathing, sudden changes in your vision or hearing, or yellowing of your skin or whites of your eyes.
  • Use a non-hormonal method of contraception such as condoms to prevent pregnancy while you are taking this medication.
  • Do not take Petogen if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have unusual vaginal bleeding, or have a history of blood clots, stroke, heart attack, liver problems, or bleeding problems.

Q. What is PETOGEN 150 MG INJECTION used for?

PETOGEN 150 MG INJECTION is a birth control method for women. It is made up of a hormone similar to progesterone, which is naturally produced in the body. It helps to prevent the development and release of egg from the ovaries during menstrual cycle thus prevents pregnancy.

Q. When and how to take PETOGEN 150 MG INJECTION ?

The first dose is usually given within 5 days of starting of your period. It is given as an injection into the muscle of the arm or buttocks, either by a doctor or nurse. A single dose of this injection is effective for 12 weeks. Therefore, after every 12 weeks you need to take this injection to avoid pregnancy.

No, PETOGEN 150 MG INJECTION is only 97% effective, which means 3 out of 100 women using PETOGEN 150 MG INJECTION may get pregnant. However, if you are taking every dose on time then the medicine can be more than 99% effective.

It may also be helpful in relieving painful periods.
