Patient Concerns about Celoside Products

Frequently asked questions about Celoside Products

Q. What is Celoside 100 Injection used for?

Celoside 100 Injection is an anticancer medicine used in the treatment of certain types of cancer. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells, helping control the disease and its progression. It is usually given as part of a treatment plan decided by a cancer specialist and may be used alone or in combination with other anticancer medicines.

Q. How does Celoside 100 Injection work?

Celoside 100 Injection contains etoposide, an anti-cancer medicine that helps slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells. Cancer cells grow and multiply much faster than normal cells. Etoposide works by damaging the genetic material (DNA) inside these cells, preventing them from dividing and making new cancer cells. Over time, this helps reduce the growth and spread of cancer, allowing the treatment to better control the disease.

Q. Why is Celoside 100 Injection given only by a doctor or nurse?

Celoside 100 Injection must be administered by a doctor because it is given as an injection and requires careful handling. The dose, infusion schedule, and monitoring are based on your medical condition, body size, blood test results, and response to treatment.

Q. Can Celoside 100 Injection be taken at home or self-administered?

No. Celoside 100 Injection should not be self-administered. It is given under medical supervision in a hospital or oncology treatment center where a doctor can monitor your response and manage any side effects that may occur during treatment.

Q. Why are regular blood tests needed during treatment?

Celoside 100 Injection can affect the production of blood cells in the bone marrow. Regular blood tests help your doctor monitor red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. These tests help assess your response to treatment and allow timely management of any treatment-related changes.

Q. Can Celoside 100 Injection increase the risk of infections?

Yes, Celoside 100 Injection may reduce the number of white blood cells that help protect the body from infections. As a result, you may become more susceptible to infections during treatment. Inform your doctor if you develop fever, chills, sore throat, or any signs of infection.

Q. Can Celoside 100 Injection cause hair loss?

Hair loss may occur during treatment with Celoside 100 Injection. This effect is usually temporary, and hair growth often returns after treatment is completed. The extent of hair loss varies from person to person and depends on individual response to therapy.

Q. Can Celoside 100 Injection affect vaccinations?

Inform your doctor if you are due to receive any vaccines or have recently been vaccinated. Certain vaccines may not be suitable during cancer treatment because your immune system may be weakened, which can affect how your body responds to vaccination.

Q. What should I do if I develop a rash or shortness of breath during treatment?

Tell your doctor or nurse immediately if you develop a rash, itching, swelling, breathing difficulty, or shortness of breath during or shortly after receiving Celoside 100 Injection. These symptoms may indicate a serious reaction that requires prompt medical attention.

Q. How long will I need treatment with Celoside 100 Injection?

The duration of treatment depends on the type of cancer being treated, your response to therapy, and your overall treatment plan. Your doctor will determine the number of treatment cycles needed and will regularly assess your progress throughout therapy.

Q. What precautions should I follow while receiving Celoside 100 Injection?

Attend all scheduled appointments, complete recommended blood tests, report any unusual symptoms promptly, and follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Regular monitoring helps ensure that treatment remains as safe and effective as possible throughout your cancer care journey.
