This test is recommended to detect the cause of persistent fever, cough, or any abnormalities found in the plain x-ray.
It may also aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, or tumors in the chest area.
CT exams are relatively safe as compared to X-ray as it uses a small amount of radiation. However, pregnant women should inform the physician about their condition as the radiations might affect the fetus.
