A NCCT Dorsolumbar (DL) Spine is an imaging procedure that helps get clear pictures of the spine. This test can detect injuries or infections to the spine, inflammation, a herniated disk, osteoarthritis, and pinched nerves.
Doctors advise a CECT Dorso-Lumbar Spine before spinal surgery, and also when a patient experiences back pain which is accompanied by fever, or weakness and numbness in the legs. It is also advised when there is a problem controlling the bladder, and when there are signs of cancer.
This procedure takes around 30-45 minutes. Before the procedure, you will be asked to remove your jewelry or any metallic items from your body. You will also have to inform your doctor if you are pregnant or diabetic.
