Functional Magnetic Resonance Imagining (fMRI) is a test for measuring and mapping the brain’s activity. It is used to better understand how the healthy brain works and how that normal function is disrupted in disease.
An fMRI can detect brain problems, such as the effects of a stroke, Alzheimer’s, or a brain injury. It can also be used for brain mapping in the case of brain surgery for epilepsy or tumors.
