Understanding MRI Angio Left Lower Limb With Contrast
What is MRI Angio Left Lower Limb With Contrast?
MRA (magnetic resonance angiography) of the hand is a quick imaging technique used to visualise the anatomy and functioning of the hand and wrist. The test requires an injection of a radiocontrast material where the arterial blood flow pattern is analysed and the images is reproduced which depicts several abnormalities of vascular system of the hand. The whole test takes less than 5 minutes.
What is MRI Angio Left Lower Limb With Contrast used for?
- To diagnose arterial occlusive disease (chronic muscular pain caused by cholesterol / fat deposition in the arterial wall of the leg)
- To detect embolism of the leg (blockage of the leg arteries due to excessive deposition of the cholesterol)
- To evaluate deep vein thrombosis (DVT) where blood clots in the deep veins of the leg
- To find out runoff disease (delayed portion of the vascular angiography to visualise small artery bed, to show small artery patency)
