Preparations

Avoid using deodorant, perfume, talcum powder, or lotion on your underarms or chest area, as these can show up on the X-ray and affect the results.

Wear a two-piece outfit (like a top and bottom) so you only need to remove your top for the scan.

If you still have menstrual periods, try to schedule the test one week after your period, when breasts are less tender.

Inform your doctor/technician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Remove necklaces or any metallic items around the chest and neck.

Informed consent is required.
