UGI Endoscopy

UGI ENDOSCOPY is conducted to visualize your upper gastrointestinal tract (UGI), including the food pipe (oesophagus), stomach, and the start of the small intestine. This procedure is used to evaluate the cause of symptoms such as abdominal pain, gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD), anemia, bloating, and unexplained weight loss. Additionally, it allows for targeted biopsies to screen for malignancy or infection, such as Helicobacter pylori.  This is a quick procedure that generally lasts about 2–5 minutes.
