A color doppler test is performed to check how blood is flowing through the blood vessel with the help of reflected sound waves. This test makes use of the blood pressure cuffs (similar to the one used to take your arm blood pressure) to monitor and record blood flow patterns and pressures of the left upper limb (arms).
It can indicate blocked or reduced blood flow due to narrowing in the main arteries of the arm, which might lead to a stroke. The technician will apply a warm gel to your arm and use a transducer or a tiny microphone to inspect your arteries. It's an entirely safe procedure. After the results, the doctor will explain the findings to you.
