CD splenoportal axis test is used for the interpretation of blood flow through major arteries in the arms, legs, neck, etc. This test can also be used to interpret blood flow in the arteries of a fetus. It is a non-invasive test that uses the mechanism of the Doppler effect.
This test is done by an ultrasound machine that uses the Doppler ultrasound effect. Wherever the doctor feels there is an obstruction in the blood flow in an artery, the doctor uses the ultrasound machine on that area to interpret the blood flow. It is a non-invasive technique that doesn’t use any harmful radiation and is perfectly safe for pregnant women and fetuses alike.
